DEPA has a programme of projects to develop the infrastructure of the natural gas distribution system in Greece, involving high-pressure and medium-pressure pipelines and facilities. Since first receiving gas from Russia through Bulgaria in 1996, DEPA’s natural gas system has expanded, and DEPA has now agreed plans for a further major expansion of the system in various areas. This includes construction of a pipeline to the border with Turkey, in order to provide another source of supply to Greece so as to meet the increasing level of demand.
