The Questar Overthrust Pipeline would run west from a compressor station near Rock Springs to Black Fork, Wyoming, and parallel an existing Questar pipeline that runs from Wamsutter to Blacks Fork and on to Opal.

The new 36 inch diameter pipeline would feed into El Paso’s proposed Ruby Gas Pipeline, which is planned to start in Opal before crossing northern Utah and Nevada and terminating in Malin, Oregon, and connect into existing lines that extend into the extensive gas market of California.

The pipeline would cost approximately $US94.3 million to construct and have a capacity of 800 MMcf/d of gas.

Most of the gas carried by the pipeline would belong to Wyoming Interstate, which has already purchased rights to move up to 548.5 MMcf/d through the pipeline and the remaining capacity would be sold to other gas companies.
