Record Transco Pipeline gas delivery staves off cold

A peak-day delivery record of 81 Bcf/d has been set on Williams’ Transco natural gas pipeline meeting a spike in market demand following colder than usual weather, according to Williams Natural Gas Pipeline President Phil Wright.
The record breaking deliveries occurred on 3 January 2010 and were also part of a new three-day record set from 2–4 January 2010 where an average of 81 Bcf/d of gas was delivered through the pipeline system.

The Transco natural gas pipeline system extends 16,898 km from South Texas to New York and serves more than 40 million homes in northeastern and southeastern United States.
