El Paso Corporation has received Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approval for its Ruby Pipeline project, to be constructed in the United States.
The 42 inch diameter pipeline will begin in Opal, Wyoming, before travelling through Utah, Nevada, and ending in Oregon. The pipeline will have an initial design capacity of up to 1.5 Bcf/d of gas.

Construction of the 1,086 km Ruby Pipeline is scheduled to commence in early 2010 and come online by March 2011.
