Saipem awarded EPC contracts for new Australian onshore pipeline

Saipem has been awarded a contract for the engineering, procurement and construction of a gas pipeline in Queensland, Australia.
The 435 km, 42 inch diameter pipeline will connect coal seam gas fields in the Bowen and Surat basins to the Gladstone State Development Area on the Coral Sea shore, where a 7.8 MMt/a LNG liquefaction and export facility will be built.
The project is being developed by the GLNG joint venture, which comprises Santos, Petronas, Total and KOGAS.
The works will be completed in the third quarter of 2013.
