Tue, 6 October 2009
SapuraAcergy has been awarded an $US170 million pipelay and wellhead construction contract for Apache Energy’s Devil Creek Development Project, located offshore Western Australia.
SapuraAcergy will install the offshore pipeline component, comprising approximately 91 km of 16 inch rigid pipeline, including a shallow water beach approach, subsea tie-in and provide stabilisation works. The company will also construct a wellhead platform comprising of a 1,700 t four-leg jacket and a 450 t topside processing module.
Engineering and project preparations have commenced in Kuala Lumpur and Perth, with offshore installation scheduled to commence in late 2010 using SapuraAcergy’s pipelay vessel, the Sapura 3000.
The Devil Creek Gas Plant will have the capacity to supply 500 bbl/d of condensate and 22 TJ/d of sales gas to the domestic market, boosting Western Australian gas supply capacity by more than 20 per cent.
Gas extracted from the offshore Reindeer Gas Field will be transported via the pipeline to the onshore plant, processed and then fed into the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline.
