The contract includes the construction of a 36 inch diameter, 260 km export trunkline and approximately 200 km of mono-ethylene glycol (MEG) pipelines, 200 km of subsea electric and control cables and 40 km of offshore flowlines.

The scope of work also includes the shore approaches, about 120 km of onshore pipelines, and encompasses the engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation of 12 wellhead platforms, two tie-in platforms and one injection platform.

The offshore activities will be performed mainly by the Castoro II and Castoro Otto vessels.

The Al Wasit Gas Programme involves the construction of an onshore grassroots Central Processing Facility (CPF) to process 2.5 Bcf/d of gas from the Arabiyah/Hasbah offshore fields and produce approximately 1.75 Bcf/d of gas.

The programme also provides for installing natural gas liquid (NGL) fractionation facilities inside the Al Wasit CPF to allow for processing a 240,000 bbl/d of ethane and NGLs produced at the Khursaniyah Plant.
