The consortium includes China’s Sinopec and the Oman Construction Co. The project was awarded by Petrodar Operating Co., the joint venture between China National Petroleum Co. International (Nile) Ltd, Petronas Carigali Oversea Sdn. Bhd., Sudapet Ltd, Gulf Oil Petroleum Ltd, and Al Thani Corp. Petronas Carigali is the exploration arm of Malaysia’s state-owned oil and gas firm Petroliam Nasional Bhd.. Petrodar holds rights for the exploration and development of two oil blocks in Sudan, MMC said, and the pipeline project is scheduled for completion by May 2005.
