The 30 inch diameter pipeline will transport up to 630 MMcf/d of natural gas from an interconnection with the Naranjos – Tamazunchale Pipeline in the Tepetate Ejido, Municipality of Tamazunchale in the State of San Luis Potosi, to Southbrook in the State of Querétaro.

The pipeline will feed existing and planned gas-fired power stations along the route in the states of San Luis Potosi, Hidalgo and Queretaro.

The Mexican Government said “Installing this pipeline will enable the development of regional industrial corridors, improve air quality in the region and create favourable conditions for investment and job creation at the regional level.”

The construction contract is scheduled to be awarded in early October 2011, with construction works to begin later that month.
