The pipeline would supply Qatari gas to Turkey across Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria and may link to the proposed 3,300 km Nabucco Gas Pipeline.

The proposed Nabucco pipeline would bring natural gas from the Caspian region, Middle East and Egypt to central and western European gas markets via eastern Europe, reducing dependence on gas from Russia.

A Turkish team is expected to travel to Qatar within the next two months, and the two countries will also discuss an LNG supply accord. Turkey is considering buying 4 Bcm of LNG from Qatar, local media has reported.
