"The pipeline is being extended from the existing Escravos - Lagos pipeline at Alagbado in Nigeria and will proceed to a beach-head in Nigeria, near the town of Badagry. From there, it will continue offshore to Takoradi in Ghana, with gas delivery laterals from the main line extending to Cotonou, Lome and Tema," Mr Oke said. The WAGP project is owned on behalf of the four countries by Texaco West African Gas Pipeline Ltd (36.7%), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (25%), Shell Overseas Holding Ltd (18%), Takoradi Power Co Ltd (16.3%), Societe Togolaise de Gaz (2%), and Societe Bingas SA 2%).
