Clock Spring eyes release of new product
Following a marketing revamp and the relaunch of its 25-year-old brand, Clock Spring has signalled it will be launching a new product in the next 12 months.
President and CEO Matt Boucher, who spoke to Pipelines International at PPIM 2017 in Houston, Texas last month, said the manufacturer of composite sleeves for pipeline repair planned to launch its first product since 2008 in the next year.
Mr Boucher, who joined the company in June 2016, said a lot of hard work behind the scenes had gone into Clock Spring’s relaunch.
“We have spent so much time going out and engaging with our customers and really trying to understand why they like us, what they don’t like about us, and trying to bring that together as a message that we can tell the world.
“In the last six months we’ve created a whole new product-development function within the company that didn’t exist before; our last significant product introduction was back in 2008, so it’s been a long time,” he said.
“In the next 6-12 months you’ll see us roll-out a series of new or improved products.
“Initially we’re focusing on products that are applicable to the pipeline-construction space: casing spacers, pipe supports, and things that we think can be of great benefit when building, replacing, or repairing a pipeline.
“These developments will culminate in approximately 12 months with a brand new Clock Spring product.”
Mr Boucher, who has a background in business transformations, said his focus in 2017 would be to build skills, capabilities, and partner with customers to enhance safety, maintain and protect capital investments, and preserve the environment.
