Rosen introduces new pipeline cleaning service
Rosen has introduced a new service to clean high-velocity gas pipelines.
Cleaning EcoSpeed uses a cleaning tool equipped with a speed-reduction valve that enables it to slow down to speeds of 3-5 m per second, without resulting in a reduction of throughput.
Cleaning tools which travel at a lower speed result in an ideal cleaning performance, while there is the possibility that tools operating at a higher-velocity can result in inferior performance due to high abrasion on discs and cups, leading to substandard cleaning.
The mechanical valve features an active valve system allowing product to by-pass through the tool body, achieving a smooth run.
As the high-velocity gas passes, the forces acting on the rear of the tool are reduced and the tool is propelled forward – not at the velocity of the gas, but significantly slower, which allows for more-effective and controlled cleaning.
It is available for various diameters and can also be utilised in dual and multi-diameter configurations.
Once Rosen’s Cleaning EcoSpeed tools have been deployed and retrieved, its field-service technicians analyse run performance and cleaning efficiency, optimise tool set-up where necessary for subsequent runs, and refurbish and maintain the tools for future use.
The tools are equipped with a release mechanism for safe launching operations regardless of the condition of the pipeline.
Cleaning EcoSpeed allows operators to maintain regular – or efficient – gas flow while ensuring optimal cleaning.
