Woodside has awarded Wood Group an AU$6 million (US$4.55 million) contract to supply engineering support during the fabrication and construction of Phase 2 of the Greater Western Flank (GWF-2) project, offshore Western Australia.
The 15-month contract on the subsea pipeline project, located on the North West Shelf, will be supported by Wood Group’s office in Perth and is the third contract it has secured on the project.
It recently completed the detailed engineering design and procurement activities for the pipeline system, for which Woodside honoured it with a recognition award for the successful delivery.
“Securing the engineering support contract for GWF-2 builds on the technical solutions and global expertise Wood Group has already brought to this complex development,” said Wood Group Specialist Technical Solutions CEO Bob MacDonald.
“We have supported the project since the concept development phase and will leverage our experience and comprehensive understanding of it, as we continue to focus on the safe and efficient execution of our services.
“We are proud to have received recognition for our successful completion of the detailed engineering design and procurement activities for the development’s pipeline system.”
The GWF-2 is the next phase of gas supply to the existing project infrastructure, following the Persephone project.
It will develop hydrocarbon resources located in the Keast, Dockrell, Sculptor, Rankin, Lady Nora and Pemberton fields.
