IPC announces 2018 distinguished lecturer

The International Pipeline Conference (IPC) has announced the honouree – CRES Founder and President Dr Yong-Yi Wang – for it Distinguished Lecturer Series in 2018.

Hosted at the Hyatt Regency and TELUS Convention Centre in Calgary, Canada on 24–28 September, IPC 2018 will once again feature the Distinguished Lecturer Series, presented by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Pipeline Systems Division.

The series recognises an individual’s technical contributions that have stood the test of time, presenting content produced over several decades to form the foundations for modern pipeline technology.

Dr Wang has had 67 papers published at IPC, across 10 of the 11 conferences and his research has led to detailed technical reports, code changes and practical implementation strategies in the pipeline industry.

The Distinguished Lecturer Series is a panel session comprising an introduction to the series, an introduction to the honouree, a presentation by Dr Wang and time for questions.

Registration to IPC 2018 includes admission to all three days of the International Pipeline Exposition, which will run alongside the conference, showcasing more than 250 exhibitors displaying the latest pipeline technologies, products and services.

There are a range of registration types, ranging in price from CA$25 to CA$1,100 (US$19 to US$855); following early bird registration, prices will range from CA$25 to CA$1,200 (US$933).

Early bird registrations are available until 3 September 2018.
