Corinth Pipeworks has been awarded a contract by TechnipFMC for the manufacture and supply of the steel pipes for exploration and production company Energean’s Karish gas field development in the South Eastern Mediterranean.
Energean is focused on developing resources in the east of the Mediterranean, where it holds 13 licenses, has the equivalent of 390 million barrels of oil in reserves and resources.
The agreement, announced on June 5, includes 90 km of 24 and 30 inch (610 and 762 mm) longitudinal-submerged arc-welded pipes for the offshore gas pipeline which connects the subsea manifold at a maximum water depth of 1,750 m to the receiving terminal onshore.
Manufacturing and coating of the pipe will commence at Corinth Pipeworks facility, in Greece, later in 2018.
