The Pipeline Research Council International’s (PRCI) Research Exchange (REX2019) will feature a keynote presentation by futurist and author Thornton May.
Mr May will present a keynote speech at REX2019 when it takes place in Houston, Texas on 5–6 March 2019.
He is a futurist, educator, anthropologist and author with extensive experience researching and consulting on the role and behaviours of ‘C’ level executives in creating value with information technology.
Mr May is known for his ability to combine empirical research, a capacity for pattern recognitions and a gift for storytelling to address the information technology management problems facing executives.
His work is particularly relevant to the industry – every day, every pipeline professional is confronted with potentially career trajectory and reputation impacting choices.
His presentation will examine the role data, analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence play in determining the future.
Following Mr May’s keynote address, the event will launch into its packed two-day, two-track agenda.
Over the course of the technical sessions, attendees will hear experts speak about the latest industry developments in corrosion prevention; leak detection and right of way issues; cracks and dents; welding; inline inspection and non-destructive examination; design, materials and construction; safety management; and subsea pipeline issues.
