Corinth delivering utility 150 km of line pipe

A European gas utility has awarded Corinth Pipeworks a contract for the delivery of pipes for 150 km of gas pipeline.

Under a frame agreement, Snam awarded Corinth the delivery of 150 km of outside diameter 26 inch (660 mm) gas line pipe for the replacement of an old gas network in central Italy.

The award is based on the strong relationship between the companies, with Corinth supplying more than 800 km of pipe over the past decade.

Altogether, 27 t of pipes will be manufactured in the company’s factory in Thisvi, Greece, where a three-layer polyethylene anti corrosion coating will be applied to the outside of the pipes and a liquid epoxy lining will be applied to the inside of the pipes.

High manufacture performance criteria – including pipe quality assurance measures – are in place to ensure that the gas pipeline meets the highest safety standards and good engineering practices.
