Weir Oil and Gas has signed a provision of rotating equipment rehabilitation services contract with a major operator in the United Arab Emirates.
Weir will redesign and remanufacture critical aero components of high-pressure and low-pressure compressors installed on an offshore platform for the operator in order to improve the reliability and time to repair of the equipment.
While the identity of the operator has not been disclosed, the client and Weir have a previous working relationship and the company is able to provide in-country support and service throughout the UAE and wider region through its Centers of Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence.
Additionally, through its Weir Edge™ services, the company continues to elevate its maintenance process optimisation services in brownfield/greenfield oil and gas, power and industrial facilities, streamlining maintenance costs and reducing total cost of ownership.
Weir Oil and Gas Eastern Hemisphere President Ronan Le Gloahec said the company appreciated the opportunity to act as trusted advisors when repairing and upgrading customers’ rotating equipment fleet.
“Combined with our state-of-the-art facility and in-country engineering expertise, this renewed contract will support this organisation’s operations for years to come,” he said.
