The Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI) has upgraded its subsea pipeline design and analysis tool.
PRCI’s On-Bottom Stability Simulator (OBS) tool is specifically designed for the analysis of on-bottom pipeline stability in subsea applications, and its new 4.0 version includes updates, bug fixes and the addition of new functionalities.
Original features of the OBS include the calculation of kinematics from 3D irregular waves, several hydrodynamic force models and models for partial burial, which allow for detailed analysis of specific pipeline sections subjected to specified environmental conditions.
The new version consists of three levels, with each level applicable to a different degree of complexity regarding pipeline design modelling.
The OBS software can be purchase at from the Technical Toolboxes website.
