BHGE progresses digital inspection era

Baker Hughes, a GE company (BHGE) has moved a step closer to a new era of digital inspections in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region with Zain Drone.

Zain Drone is presenting a new era of digital pipeline inspection to the MENA region and BHGE has recently signed a memorandum of understanding agreement to further the technology’s progress.

BHGE President and CEO Rami Qasem says the company is looking forward to working together to reduce safety risks, operator error and time through the drone technology.

The Zain Drone’s vast capabilities in key areas of collecting, transferring, storing and processing large quantities of data will assist in the inspection of confined spaces, such as pipelines, and allow for early detection of problems in inaccessible infrastructure for the scheduling of necessary repairs.

The diversified fleet of world-class drones have state-of-the-art capabilities and can conduct advanced analytics as part of its ‘Drone as a Service’ operations.

Zain is a leading telecom operator in the MENA region that has a primary focus on the delivery of drone powered solutions.
