Enterprise Products Partners plans to expand and extend its Acadian pipeline in Louisiana, US.
The Acadian natural gas pipeline system will be expanded and extended to deliver greater volumes of natural gas to the LNG market in South Louisiana in the US.
Construction works will include an approximately 129 km pipeline originating near Cheneyville in Louisiana on Enterprise’s Acadian Haynesville Extension to third party interconnect near Gills, Louisiana.
The project will increase capacity on the extension by adding horsepower to its Mansfield compressor station, which will increase the Acadian system’s capabilities from 1.8 Bcf/d to 2.1 Bcf/d.
Enterprise CEO AJ Teague said, once completed, the Acadian system will deliver production into the LNG market of South Louisiana and other interconnects that serve attractive US markets.
“The expansion and extension of the Acadian system enhances our capability to link supply to some of the most attractive markets in the US,” said Mr Teague.
The system links gas supplies in Louisiana and offshore Gulf of Mexico with local distribution companies, electric utility plants and industrial customers located in the Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Mississippi River areas.
The Acadian Gas Pipeline System comprises approximately 2,092 km of natural gas pipeline.
