NextDecade Corporation and Enbridge Incorporated have announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly pursue the Rio Bravo Pipeline development.
NextDecade and Enbridge’s joint pursuit of the Rio Bravo Pipeline and other natural gas pipelines in South Texas, US will target the transport of natural gas to NextDecade’s Rio Grande LNG project, located in Brownsville, Texas.
The proposed Rio Bravo Pipeline is designed as a twin, 42 inch (1,067 mm) pipeline system that will transport 4.5 Bcf/d of natural gas from the Agua Dulce area to Rio Grande LNG.
The system will also include three compressor stations, six mainline valve sites and six meter stations.
NextDecade’s Chair and CEO Matt Schatzman said that the company is looking forward to exploring a strong partnership with Enbridge in South Texas.
“With its Texas Eastern Pipeline and recently completed Valley Crossing Pipeline, Enbridge has extensive permitting, construction and operating experience in the State of Texas, especially in South Texas,” said Mr Schatzman.
It is anticipated the MoU will be finalised by the end of 2019.
